This is Hyde Away. It's our cottage in Scarborough Old Town, down one of those stepped lanes. It sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
It's about a five minute walk to the beach at South Bay. You can see a sliver of sea from the doorstep. The lane is quiet, but it's steps, so be aware of that.
The place was renovated in 2025. It's not huge, but it's comfy. The stairs are fairly steep, which is normal for these old cottages. There's a small patio garden out the back.
You've got South Bay with the arcades and the harbour one way, and North Bay with the Sea Life Centre the other. The castle is on the headland in the middle. It's all walkable.
If you want to go further, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay are about half an hour's drive up the coast. The North York Moors are inland, also about 30 minutes. The National Park website is good for walking routes.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. We allow one well-behaved dog.
