Wren Cottage is in Lind Head, North Yorkshire. It's a converted stone barn, part of a row of a few cottages. You get your own bit of garden out the front.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. One bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. Everything works.
The location is the main thing. It's inside the North York Moors National Park, so you're straight into open countryside. But Scarborough's North Bay beaches are only about three miles away, so you can get to the coast quickly.
The villages of Scalby and Burniston are a mile down the road. There’s a local pub in walking distance.
Scarborough has the castle, two bays, and the usual seaside things. The Open Air Theatre is good for concerts. Filey is a bit further down the coast, and then Bridlington.
Heading north, the old railway line to Whitby is a great walk or cycle with good views. Whitby itself is about half an hour's drive. It’s got the abbey, the harbour, and all the history.
Inland, you’ve got the moors. The steam train from Pickering to Grosmont is worth doing. For a big day out, Castle Howard is within 30 minutes. Dalby Forest is close by for walking or cycling.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them, bedding is included, and there's parking right outside. WiFi and TV are there. There's bike storage. Sorry, no pets.
