44 Norwood is a big terraced house on a normal residential street. It's about a 15, 20 minute walk from the South Bay beach, or you can drive down in five minutes.
It sleeps nine, which is a lot, spread over five bedrooms. Two bathrooms. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's got an enclosed garden at the back with a patio. Parking for one car on the front drive.
Inside, it's just a straightforward family house. There's a living room, a separate dining room, and a decent kitchen. All the bedding and towels are included. Washing machine, WiFi, TV. Nothing flash, but it's got what you need.
You're a short walk from the town centre shops and restaurants. The beach is under a mile away. The South Bay is the busy one with the donkeys and arcades. North Bay is quieter. You can walk the promenade between them, past the castle headland.
The castle's up on the cliff. It's English Heritage, so useful if you're a member. Peasholm Park is nice, especially if you fancy a go on the pedalos. The open-air theatre is there too.
Within half an hour's drive you can get to a lot. Filey and Flamborough Head are along the coast. Robin Hood's Bay is about 25 minutes north. Whitby with the Abbey is about 40 minutes, so a bit further. For a big day out, Flamingoland theme park is roughly 30 minutes by car. Dalby Forest is good for walking or cycling.
