Scarborough House

Scarborough House is on Castle Road, about halfway down the hill. It's a townhouse, so it's tall and thin. Architecturally it's Arts and Crafts, so you get the high ceilings and original details. The chandeliers are there. It's not a modern open-plan place, it's got separate rooms.

It sleeps ten people. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The rooms are a good size. Each bedroom is decorated differently, some with quite bold colours.

The stairs are standard for a house like this. The kitchen is very well equipped. There's a large table in there. Through a partition door there's a formal dining room. The living room is comfortable.

Outside there's a small, enclosed courtyard garden. It gets the sun in the afternoon.

You're in a good spot here. The castle is up the hill to your left. To get to the beach, you walk down through the Italian Gardens. It takes about ten minutes to reach the sand. The town centre and both North and South Bay are within walking distance.

There's a local shop nearby for basics. Plenty of pubs and restaurants around too.

For things to do, Peasholm Park with its boating lake is close. The Sea Life Centre is on the seafront. Alpamare waterpark is a short drive. Further out, within about half an hour, you've got Flamingo Land, the North York Moors, and places like Filey and Robin Hood's Bay. Whitby is about a 40-minute drive.

Facilities: there's WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to four dogs.
