Hundale Barn
Hundale Barn is in Cloughton, a few minutes drive from the coast. It's a barn conversion. You get the garden to yourselves. It's enclosed, which is good if you have a dog.
The place sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, so no queueing in the morning. Both rooms have king-size beds. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
There's a pub just over the road. It's friendly and serves food. The village is quiet, but you're not far from anything.
Scarborough is about ten minutes south by car. You've got the castle, the harbour, and two bays. Whitby is twenty minutes north. That's where the Abbey is, and the famous fish and chips. The beach is a mile and a half away at Hayburn Wyke. It's rocky, more for walking than lounging.
You're right on the edge of the North York Moors for walking. The North York Moors National Park website has routes. For the coast path, the Cleveland Way runs nearby.
Inside, it's open plan downstairs with a wood burner. The kitchen has what you need. One bedroom is on the ground floor, just down a couple of steps. Its doors open onto the patio. The other is upstairs, accessed by a minstrel gallery. The stairs are fine, but the gallery has a low handrail, so watch your step.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. We can link it with the cottage next door if you're a group of six.
