Oak Cottage is in Burniston, which is about three miles inland from Scarborough. It's a small, old stone cottage that sleeps two, so it's just for couples. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well put together.
The cottage is from the 1700s, so you get the low beams. Mind your head. The stairs are steep. There's an electric stove in the front room that gives a bit of heat and looks nice.
Outside, there's a small bench at the front. At the back, there's an enclosed patio with a table and chairs. It's private.
Over the road there's a village shop for basics. The Oak Wheel pub is a couple of minutes' walk away. They do food. You can park your car in their car park during your stay, which is useful.
Scarborough is less than four miles away. That's where you go for the beach, the castle, and the usual seaside things. Scarborough Castle is worth a visit if you like history.
For a good coastal walk, you can start from here. Northwards, you're not far from Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby. Whitby's about a 30 minute drive. South, Filey is about 20 minutes.
The North York Moors National Park starts just inland. You can be up on the moors in 15 minutes by car.
Inside, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. You can bring up to two dogs.
