Swinney Cottage is on the Doxford Estate, near Embleton. It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both beds are super kingsize. There are two bathrooms, one is an ensuite.
It's a 5 Star Gold place, which means it's well kept and finished to a high standard. It's not huge, but it's comfortable. There's a wood burner in the living room, and logs are included.
The garden is private and has a view through the trees to Doxford Lake. You can walk down to the lake in a few minutes. There's a path around it, and some benches to sit on.
There's a separate games room in a big shed. It's got a large TV, a football table, and air hockey. Outside it, there's a hard area for badminton or basketball. The estate has a play area for kids as well.
You're about a ten minute drive from Embleton Bay, which is a good, sandy beach. Bamburgh Castle and beach are about twenty minutes north. Alnwick Castle and Gardens are about twenty minutes south. The coastal villages like Craster and Seahouses are close by for pubs and fish and chips. Craster is known for its kippers.
Further afield, you can drive to Holy Island, but you must check the tide times for the causeway. It's about forty minutes away.
In terms of what's here: full kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, wifi, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. There's parking. No pets.
