Fox Cover

Fox Cover is on the Doxford Estate, near Embleton. It's a one bedroom cottage that sleeps two. It used to be the gatekeeper's place. It has a 5 Star Gold rating, which means it's very well done up.

There's an open plan living area with a wood burner. We leave logs for you. The kitchen has everything, including a dishwasher. The bedroom has a kingsize bed. It also has a football table and an air hockey table in there, which is a bit different.

You have your own garden. It looks out towards Doxford Lake, which is a short walk away. You can walk around the lake. There are benches to sit on. Doxford Hall Hotel is on the estate if you fancy a spa treatment or a meal.

The coast is close. Embleton Bay is a great beach, about a ten minute drive. It's sandy and backed by dunes. Craster is a fishing village nearby, famous for kippers. You can walk from there along the cliffs to Dunstanburgh Castle ruins. Bamburgh Castle and beach are about fifteen minutes north.

Alnwick Castle and its gardens are worth a visit, about half an hour away. Holy Island is a bit further, maybe forty minutes. Remember to check the tide times for the causeway. For a local pint, there's a microbrewery in Newton-by-the-Sea, about five miles away.

Facilities: we provide bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and TV. Parking is on site. We can provide a cot and highchair. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome.
