Coastguards

This is Coastguards. It’s a cottage in Portscatho, on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall. It’s a former coastguard cottage, so it's up on the headland.

The main thing is the view. It looks straight out over Gerrans Bay, no obstructions. The big window in the living room faces it. There’s a kitchen and living area all together on the first floor to make the most of it.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The quality is good, it's not basic.

Outside, there are two terraces at the front. They get the sun most of the day. There’s a gate from the garden straight onto the South West Coast Path. You’re up some steps from the road at the front and back, just so you know.

You can walk down to the beach in about five minutes. There are two main ones nearby. Porthcurnick Beach is a National Trust beach, good for swimming. If you have kayaks or paddleboards, you can store them in the garage.

In the village there’s a shop and a pub. It’s all walkable. You can park two cars at the back on Admiralty Terrace.

For things to do, St Mawes is about a 15 minute drive. You can get the passenger ferry from there over to Falmouth. The whole area is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. For walking information, the South West Coast Path site is useful.

Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
