Petroc is the cottage halfway down on the left, on the main hill into St Mawes. It's got a porch on the front to get your boots off.
You don't really come here for the inside. It's nice. It sleeps six, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. The 4 Star rating means it's done to a good standard. But you're here for the view. The main bedroom has a balcony that looks straight out over the harbour. You can have your coffee there in the morning and watch the water taxis and sailing boats. The sea's right there.
There's a small parking space next to the cottage, which is a real plus in St Mawes. The hill is steep, so you'll be glad of it.
The village centre is five minutes' walk downhill. You've got the pub, a couple of places to eat, a shop. The ferry over to Falmouth goes from the quay. For a longer trip, the Roseland Peninsula walk starts nearby, or you can get the ferry and walk from Falmouth. Visit Cornwall has good ideas, and the National Trust in Cornwall looks after a lot of the coastal path.
Inside, there's underfloor heating downstairs and a wood burner for the evenings. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a stairgate if you need them. No pets, sorry.
