Rosevean House is in St Mawes, Cornwall. It's a detached house. We own it, and we spent a long time getting it right.
It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, so everything's in good order. The property is on different levels, and the stairs are quite steep in parts. It's something to be aware of.
The main thing is the view. It looks right over St Mawes harbour and the bay, from the castle to Place Manor. You can see it from most windows. The master bedroom has a balcony. You can't beat the view from up there.
The garden is a good size. There's a patio with those same views. Inside, there's a kitchen with a walk-in larder, a living room on a mezzanine level, and another sitting room downstairs that leads out.
It's about a five minute walk down to the harbour. There's a pathway, but it's a steep hill coming back up. Summers Beach is a few minutes' walk the other way.
St Mawes itself is small. There are a few pubs and restaurants by the water, mostly doing fish. You can get the ferry over to Falmouth, which is a proper town with more going on. The castle is St Mawes Castle, which is an English Heritage site. The coastal path walks from here are very good.
For facilities: there's parking on site, WiFi, a washing machine, a woodburning stove, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
If you're planning trips, the National Trust for Cornwall site is useful, as is Visit Cornwall.
