High Meadows is our house near St Mawes. It's a reverse level layout, which means the living areas are upstairs to get the views. You get the whole thing to yourselves.
It sleeps eleven, which is uncommon round here. Six bedrooms, six bathrooms. All the bedrooms are on the ground floor. Three are doubles, two are twins, and there's a single. Most have their own ensuite. It's a five star place, so it's kept to a high standard.
Upstairs, the main living room opens onto a big balcony overlooking the garden. The kitchen is open plan with a sitting area, and it looks out over the Percuil River. The dining room has another balcony. There's also a small library nook if you want some quiet. Downstairs, there's a large utility room. It's useful for dumping wet walking gear or sailing kit.
The garden is spacious and well-kept. There's on-site parking.
We should mention there's an annexe attached to the house. We use it occasionally. We park elsewhere and go in through a completely separate entrance at the back, so you won't see us. It's sound-proofed and the blinds on your side are always kept closed.
St Mawes itself is about a ten minute walk downhill. It's a proper Cornish waterside village. There's a shop, a few pubs and restaurants, and a castle. The beach is about half a mile.
You can get the ferry over to Falmouth from the harbour. For a longer coastal walk, the St Anthony's Head area is good. The St Mawes Castle is worth a visit if you like that sort of thing.
Facilities wise: it has pretty much everything. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a BBQ and garden furniture. You can bring up to two dogs.
