The Haven Lodge
The Haven Lodge is our place in St Mawes. It's detached, up above the village a bit, so you get a view of the sea from the front. It sleeps eight, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, so everyone gets some space. Three of the bedrooms have their own shower room.
It's a 5 Star place, which means it's been done to a high standard. It's an eco property, so it's very well insulated and has things like an electric car charger. The heating is underfloor on the ground floor, which is good when it's cooler.
The layout is upside down. The bedrooms are on the ground floor when you come in. Then you go up a turning staircase to the main living area. That's so the sitting room and the big deck get the view. The kitchen is open plan and has a table for eight. There's a utility cupboard with a washer and dryer.
Outside, there's a decked area with a garden around it. You can park two cars on the cobbled area at the front.
It's a short walk down into St Mawes itself. Maybe ten minutes. You've got the harbour, a couple of small beaches, shops, and places to eat. The ferry over to Falmouth runs regularly from there.
For days out, the National Trust Cornwall page is good for ideas. The Roseland peninsula is nice for walking. Truro is about half an hour by car if you need a city or the cathedral.
We allow one well-behaved dog. Bedding and towels are included.
