The Haven Lodge
The Haven Lodge is in St Mawes. It's a detached house up the hill from the harbour. You can see the sea from the upstairs rooms.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Three are en-suite, and there's a separate family bathroom too. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable. Everything's included: bedding, towels, WiFi. There's underfloor heating downstairs and an electric car charger on the drive.
The layout is upside down. The bedrooms are on the ground floor. You go upstairs to the main living room and kitchen. The living room has big doors that open onto a deck. You can sit out there and look at the view. The kitchen is modern and has a table for everyone.
It's a short walk down into St Mawes itself. There are a few pubs, shops, and places to eat by the harbour. The beach is down there too. The ferry to Falmouth runs regularly from the pier.
Within about half an hour's drive you've got a few options. The Trelissick Garden is on the way to Truro. The Glendurgan Garden is near Mawnan Smith. For a bigger day out, the Penrose Estate at Helston has a big lake and coastal path.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine and tumble dryer, a dishwasher, parking for two cars, and that deck with garden space. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
