Shoal Corner
Shoal Corner is in St Mawes, about half a mile from the harbour and beaches. It's a cottage that's been rebuilt inside, so it's modern but keeps the view.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms, so no queues in the morning. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor. One's a twin with its own shower, one's a double, and there's a bunk room. They call it a cabin room, it's basic but fine for kids. The main bathroom on that floor has a separate shower.
Upstairs is the living space and the main bedroom. The view from the living room is the main thing. Big sliding doors open onto a deck. You can see right over the river to Falmouth. The kitchen is fine, everything works. There's a utility room off it with a washing machine and another shower, which is handy if you've been on the beach.
The master bedroom is also up here, off to the side. It has its own shower room and doors out to the garden.
Outside, there's a deck right outside the living room, then steps down to a patio and a bit of lawn. It catches the sun. There's space round the side to store kayaks or paddleboards if you bring them.
St Mawes itself is small. Steep streets, a couple of beaches, some good places to eat. You can get the ferry over to Falmouth, which is a bigger town. The National Trust's Trelissick Garden is about a 25-minute drive up the river. The English Heritage site at Pendennis Castle in Falmouth is worth a trip if you like that sort of thing.
Facilities: it's got the washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Parking for one car on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
