Upper Cobblestones is in St Mawes. It’s a house, not a cottage. Sleeps ten, which is good for a big family or a few friends. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so everyone isn't queuing.
The view is the main thing. It looks right over the Carrick Roads. You can sit on the full-width balcony and watch the boats go by. The ferries, yachts, the odd tanker heading up to Falmouth. It’s south facing, so you get the sun.
It’s a reverse-level layout. You walk in on the same level as the bedrooms. The living room and kitchen are upstairs to make the most of the view. The stairs are fine.
Outside, there’s a heated swimming pool with a safety cover. A large garden and plenty of parking, which you need here. You can bring up to two dogs.
It’s about a five-minute walk down to the harbour. There are shops, a few restaurants, a couple of pubs. The St Mawes Castle is even closer, just up the path. It’s handy for the ferry over to Falmouth.
Inside, it’s got a 4 Star rating. That means it’s comfortable and well-equipped. There’s WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and highchair if you need them.
For places further out, you’ve got the whole Roseland peninsula for walks. The National Trust looks after a lot of it. For a bigger beach, you’d drive to somewhere like Pendower, which is about twenty minutes. Falmouth is a ten-minute ferry ride or a half hour drive around the estuary. Truro is about forty minutes by car.
