Thimble Cottage is in St Mawes. It's a two bedroom place, sleeps four. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and done up nicely, but it's a cottage in an old village.
You're right in the centre. The front door opens onto the street. It's about a hundred metres from the harbour and the pubs. You get the sound of the gulls and the boats. It's not remote.
The layout is a bit different. You come into the living room with the wood burner. The stairs are in the middle of the ground floor, between the living room and the dining area. The kitchen is small, but it has everything you need, including a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too.
Upstairs are the two bedrooms. Both have their own shower room. Both look out over the bay. You get a proper view of the water from the windows. There's a small terraced area out the front with a table and chairs.
Summers Beach is a couple of minutes' walk down the hill. The St Mawes Castle is run by English Heritage and is a short walk along the coast. The ferry over to Falmouth runs from the quay.
For a wider day out, the National Trust has several spots nearby, like Trelissick Garden, which is about a twenty-five minute drive. The Roseland peninsula is good for walking if you don't want to use the car.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry. Parking is on the street. You can usually find a space close by, but it's not guaranteed, especially in summer.
