Holly Cottage
Holly Cottage is in Coombe, which is just outside Feock. It's on an estuary, so you get a view of the water. It's a modern place, originally built like a hut but extended.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms, which is handy. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
Two bedrooms are in the main house upstairs. The beds there are zip and link, so you can have them as single or double. The third bedroom is separate, in the extension off the side. You get to it by going through a ground floor wet room and up some steep, narrow stairs. The room up there has twin beds and a window overlooking the estuary.
Downstairs is open plan: kitchen, dining, living area. It's got a wood burner for cooler evenings. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs.
Speaking of dogs, you can bring two. There's parking on site.
The location is quiet. You can walk along the estuary path through the plum orchards. For water activities, there's a centre at Loe Beach nearby for sailing or windsurfing.
Truro is about a ten minute drive for supermarkets, shops, and a cinema. For beaches, you're looking at about a twenty minute drive to the south coast ones, or half an hour up to the surf at Newquay. Padstow and the Falmouth area are about forty minutes away, depending on the ferry. The National Trust and Cornwall's AONB sites are useful for planning walks on the Roseland peninsula.
Inside, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed.
