The Cabin
The Cabin is in Carnon Downs, near Truro. It's a wooden lodge, one of three on this site. Parking is right next to it.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star place, so it's clean and comfortable without being flash. The main room is open plan.
You've got your own patio out the front. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs.
The site itself has about 20 acres of gardens to wander. There's a kids' play area and a cafe bar at reception. You can walk from here down to the River Fal and the creeks at Penpol and Devoran.
If you've got bikes, the Bissoe Trail starts nearby. It's a good path for cycling or walking, follows an old mining tramway. The Camel Trail up near Wadebridge is about a 30 minute drive if you fancy a change.
Truro is ten minutes by car. It's got all the shops you'd need, a decent cathedral, and plenty of places to eat. Falmouth is about eight miles. The Maritime Museum there is worth a visit if the weather turns.
For beaches, you're looking at a 20 to 30 minute drive. Places like Loe Beach near Truro have water sports. The south coast beaches around the Lizard, like Kennack Sands, are about half an hour away.
The main attractions like the Eden Project or the Lost Gardens of Heligan are a bit further, maybe 40 minutes to an hour depending on traffic. They're good for a day out.
