The Cottage is over at Hendra, near Stithians. It's part of a group of places called Higher Trewithen. It used to be a farm. There are seven properties on the site, in about four acres of land. Gardens and woods mainly.
It's a ground floor place. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got the 3 Star rating. That's what it is: clean, comfortable, not fancy. The place has been done up, but it's still a cottage. You get your own little garden or patio area. There's parking right there.
It's an eco-conscious setup. They've tried to do things properly that way. The electricity and utilities are included.
Inside, you've got the normal stuff. TV, WiFi, washing machine. Bedding and towels are there for you. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You can bring two dogs. There's a shared kids play area on the site if that's useful, and a BBQ you can use.
Location wise, it's quiet. Rural. You're about a ten minute drive from Stithians Lake. Good for a walk round the water. Five mile loop. People go windsurfing there because it's often windy. You can fish for trout too, they stock it.
Truro's not far, maybe twenty minutes by car. Cathedral, shops, places to eat. Falmouth's in the other direction, similar sort of distance. Harbour, Maritime Museum, couple of beaches like Gyllyngvase. Helston is about twelve miles.
For a walk locally, Kennal Vale Nature Reserve is two miles away. It's an old gunpowder works that's gone back to nature. Interesting if you like that sort of thing.
