The Cottage
The Cottage is on the Higher Trewithen farmstead, near the village of Stithians in Cornwall. It's one of seven cottages here, set in about four acres of gardens and fields. This one is a ground floor apartment, so no stairs to worry about.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's a 3 Star property, so it's comfortable and clean. Being part of an eco-conscious complex, things like the heating and hot water are run efficiently.
You've got your own patio area. There's on-site parking. The facilities are what you'd need: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, bedding and towels are included. They've got a cot and highchair if you need them. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a shared garden space and a kids' play area on the farm.
The location is quiet and rural. You're about a twenty-minute drive from the south coast. Falmouth is about 20 minutes away, that's where the deep harbour and maritime museum are. Truro is a bit closer, maybe 15 minutes. That's the city with the cathedral and most of the shops.
For a walk right nearby, Stithians Lake has a five-mile circular path. It's popular for fishing and windsurfing too. The Kennal Vale Nature Reserve is only a couple of miles away. It's an old gunpowder works site gone back to nature, good for a shorter stroll.
Helston is about twelve miles west, that's the town famous for the Flora Day festivities. For beaches, you'd drive to the coast at places like Gyllyngvase near Falmouth, which takes about half an hour.
