The Farm House
The Farm House is in Halwin, about halfway between Falmouth and St Ives. It's a proper old Cornish farmhouse. Detached. It sleeps twelve, which we've found is good for big family groups or a few friends. Six bedrooms, four bathrooms.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's not a show home. It's a family place. The kitchen has a big range cooker and a long table so everyone can eat together.
The garden is large and private. There's a patio, a bit of a wildflower area, and a children's play park on the farm site which they can use. We allow up to three dogs.
You're right in the middle of Cornwall here. The north coast with its surfing beaches is about a twenty-minute drive. The south coast around the Helford River, which is calmer and good for sailing, is about the same the other way.
There's a shop a mile and a half away, and a pub and restaurant just over a mile. Stithians Lake is close by for water sports if that's your thing. You can hire bikes locally for the trails.
Falmouth is about a twenty-five minute drive. It's got the Maritime Museum and Pendennis Castle. St Ives, with the Tate gallery, is roughly half an hour.
Facilities wise: everything in the list is there. WiFi, TVs, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We provide a cot and a highchair.
