The Old Barn is in St Day. It's a 3 Star rating place. It's detached, so no one's sharing walls with you. It's a single open-plan room downstairs, with a bedroom up on a mezzanine.
It sleeps four, but it's one bedroom on the mezzanine, with a double and two singles. The bathroom is downstairs. You take a short flight of stone steps down to get into the main room. The stairs up to the mezzanine are wooden and open-tread, so they feel a bit steep. There's a wood burner. It works. It's nice in the colder months.
There's a small enclosed patio garden out the front with a picnic table. Parking is right there.
St Day is a proper old Cornish village. The streets are narrow. There are two pubs you can walk to, and a village shop. It's not a bustling place, it's quiet.
You're about a ten minute drive from Porthtowan beach. Good for surf. Portreath and Perranporth are within twenty minutes or so. St Agnes is close, about five minutes in the car. They've got cafés and shops. Truro is maybe fifteen minutes away if you need a bigger supermarket, the cathedral, or a cinema.
The coast path is easily accessible from here. For a big day out, the Eden Project is about half an hour away. So is Falmouth for the maritime museum. The National Trust has a few properties in the area, like Trelissick.
Facilities: WiFi, TV, wood burner, washing machine, highchair, cot, stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring one dog.
