The Dunes
The Dunes is my flat in Porthtowan. It's on the ground floor. You're basically a two minute walk from the sand and the Blue Bar.
It's for four people. There's one double room and a second room with adult sized bunk beds. One bathroom. It's clean and has that 4 Star rating. You get towels and bedding.
The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining table, and sofa area all together. It's fine for a family or a few friends. There's WiFi and a TV.
The best bit might be the little garden. It gets the sun in the evening, so you can sit out there.
You can park two cars right outside.
The beach is the main thing. It's a proper surf beach, so the waves are good. There's a surf school and you can hire gear in the village. The sand is golden and it gets huge when the tide goes out, linking up with Chapel Porth. The iconic Wheal Coates engine house is on the cliffs above. It's a Blue Flag beach.
In the village there's the Blue Bar, a shop, and a cafe. For other things, you'll need to drive. St Agnes is about ten minutes away. The National Trust looks after the coast there. Portreath is a ten minute drive up the coast. Truro is about twenty five minutes for bigger shops.
Facilities are what you'd expect: washing machine, parking, garden. No pets, sorry.
