The Old Dairy is on our farm, just outside Mount Hawke. It's a single-storey place, so everything's on one level. We converted it from the old farm dairy, hence the name. It's just for two people.
You're on a working farm, so you'll see us and the animals coming and going. The lane to it is private and quiet. Inside, it's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings, which is nice. The shower is fine, it's not a power shower but it works. The bed is a double. All the bedding and towels are included.
Outside, there's a little patio area with a table and chairs that gets the sun. You can park right outside.
Location wise, Mount Hawke village is about a ten minute walk. It's got a pub, a shop, and a florist. The coast is about a mile and a half away. Porthtowan has a big sandy beach and a natural saltwater pool for swimming. St Agnes is close by too, a proper Cornish mining village with great coastal walks.
You can drive to Truro in about twenty minutes. Perranporth beach, which is good for surfing, is about ten minutes by car. The Eden Project is maybe half an hour away. Being so close to the A30 means you can get to most places in Cornwall quite easily.
For walking, you can pick up the South West Coast Path from several points nearby. The farm itself has footpaths leading off from it. Useful links for planning: National Trust Cornwall and South West Coast Path.
Facilities are all there: TV, washing machine, the woodburner. No pets, sorry. It's a no-smoking property.
