Villa Calafia is on the edge of Porthtowan. It’s a detached bungalow, so everything’s on one level. You can park three cars on the drive.
It sleeps six in three double rooms. The main bedroom has an ensuite and doors out to the garden. There’s a second family bathroom. All the bedrooms have a TV on the wall.
The main room is open plan. The kitchen has an island with stools, a dishwasher and a washing machine. The living bit has a wood burner and a Smart TV. Big bifold doors open right onto a deck with a hot tub. The garden is big, with a lawn, a firepit and a barbecue. It backs onto fields, so the view is just countryside. You get a good sunset from the kitchen window.
The house is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. There’s no through traffic. Porthtowan village is about a ten minute walk downhill. It’s got a good shop, a chippy, surf hire, and a couple of beach bars that do food. There’s a pub within walking distance too, with a beer garden.
The beach is award winning. It’s good for surfing and families. The South West Coast Path runs right through it, so you can start a walk from the door. You’re well placed for exploring. St Agnes is ten minutes drive one way, Hayle and St Ives about half an hour the other. Truro is twenty five minutes for bigger shops.
Facilities wise, it’s got pretty much everything. Bedding and towels are included. There’s WiFi and an electric vehicle charger. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it’s been graded as a high standard. It’s also wheelchair accessible at the entrance.
You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a useful plant room just inside for hanging wetsuits and boots.
