Pennygillam is just outside St Mawes. It's a short walk down the hill to the harbour, maybe four or five minutes. The main thing is it has a parking space, which is a plus because parking here can be tricky.
It sleeps six, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but it's not a show home. The stairs are narrow, and there's a note about them being steep and open in places. Just so you know.
From the front room and the main bedroom upstairs you look straight out to sea. It's a good view. There's a small seating area out front to sit and have a drink and watch it. The garden is at the back, it's got a lawn and some shrubs. There's garden furniture.
Inside, the kitchen has a big table that fits everyone. It's got an Aga, which keeps the place warm, and there's a dishwasher and a washing machine in a utility room. Bedding and towels are included.
Everything in St Mawes is walking distance. Beaches, the harbour, places to eat. It's all down the hill. If you want to go further, the St Anthony Head walk is good, and you can get the ferry over to Falmouth from the harbour. The National Trust has a lot of the coastline here. The Cornwall National Landscape site is useful for maps and ideas.
It takes two dogs. The parking space is right at the front of the house.
