Trosvik

Trosvik is in Portscatho, right in the middle of the village. It's a big house that sleeps twelve, with seven bedrooms and five bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, and it's been recently done up, but it's not a show home. It's a practical place for a big group.

The beach is essentially across the road. You go out the front gate, cross the lane, and you're on the path down to the sand. It's about a minute's walk.

Inside, it's on three floors. The stairs are a standard staircase, not a steep cottage one. The main living room is on the ground floor with a wood burner. The kitchen is big, with a large table that extends to seat everyone. There's a utility room and a shower room down there too, which is useful coming in from the beach.

Most bedrooms are a good size. One of the king rooms on the first floor has a sea view. There's a mix of bed types across the seven rooms. All the bedding and towels are included.

Outside, there's a paved terrace at the front to sit out on. You get one dedicated parking space right outside the back door, which is a real bonus here.

You can bring up to three dogs. The beach right opposite is dog-friendly all year.

The village shop is a two-minute walk. The local pub, the Plume of Feathers, is about the same. It does St Austell ales and food. There's a butcher and a few other bits in the village too.

For other beaches, if you walk north on the coast path for about 20 minutes, you get to Porthcurnick. It's a lovely sandy beach. A bit further on, Carne and Pendower join up at low tide into one huge stretch of sand.

You're on the Roseland Peninsula. St Mawes is about a 15-minute drive for the castle and the ferry over to Falmouth. The National Trust has a few gardens and houses around here, like Trelissick. Truro is roughly half an hour away if you need a city or the cathedral.

Facilities: it's got WiFi, a smart TV you can log into streaming services on, a dishwasher, washing machine, and the wood burner. We provide the first bag of logs.
