The Hut

The Hut is called that because it used to be a potting shed, a long time ago. It's a bungalow now, in Carne, on the Roseland. Everything's on one floor, which is useful.

It sleeps four. There are three bedrooms. One double, one with twin beds, and a bunk room. The double and twin room look out to sea over Gerrans Bay. The bunk room looks out the back. There's one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable.

The garden is nice. It's mature and private. There's a patio bit at the south end that gets the sun. We've left a table and chairs out there, and a barbecue. It's a good spot.

Inside, the walls are pine-clad, so it feels a bit like a cabin. There's a multi-fuel burner in the living room. We leave some fuel for it. The kitchen has what you'd need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.

You can walk down to Carne Beach in about ten minutes. At low tide, you can walk along the sand for a good mile west, past Pendower Beach. The coastal path is right there. In the other direction, Portloe is a short drive. It's a proper little fishing village. Veryan, with its round houses, is also close.

The whole Roseland peninsula is good for walking. The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here. For more detailed maps and routes, the South West Coast Path site is useful.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking for one car on the gravel drive.
