Verbena Cottage
Verbena Cottage is in Veryan, on the Roseland in Cornwall. It’s a 300 year old cottage that we’ve extended. It sleeps six people. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, so you’re not queuing for a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating.
You get parking right beside the cottage. The front door opens into the kitchen. It’s got all the usual things: dishwasher, washing machine in a utility room.
The main living space is open plan. There’s a kitchen area, a lounge with a sofa and TV, and a dining table at the back. Big windows at the back look out over the garden, which is a decent size with a patio and lawn.
Two of the bathrooms are upstairs. One is a shower room between two bedrooms. There’s also a family bathroom upstairs. Downstairs, there’s a third shower room just off the utility room, which is handy if you’re coming in from the beach or with wet dogs.
The stairs are original, so they’re steep and a bit narrow. We’ve fitted a stairgate at the top.
Veryan itself is quiet. It’s famous for its Round Houses. There’s a village shop and a pub. The closest beaches are at Carne and Pendower, about a mile and a half away. The coastal path is easy to get to. Portloe is two miles down the road.
For a day out, St. Mawes is about eight miles. You can get the ferry from there over to Falmouth. Truro is twelve miles if you need a bigger shop or the cathedral.
The property is listed as suitable for two pets. Bedding and towels are provided. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them.
