The Wool Shed is a shepherds hut in a field on our land, near Mevagissey. It's for two people. One bedroom, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not a house. It's glamping.
You're on a bit of a slope, so there's a raised deck with a table and chairs. You can see a sliver of the sea in the distance between the trees. It's detached and private.
Inside is one open-plan room. There's a wood burner for cooler nights. The kitchen area is small but has what you need. The bed is up in a mezzanine, which you get to by a ladder. It's fine, but something to be aware of.
We allow one well-behaved dog. There's bike storage if you bring them. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right by the hut.
The nearest shop and pub are about half a mile down the lane in Trevarrick. The pub does food. For a beach, Gorran Haven or Hemmick are about ten minutes by car. Mevagissey harbour is a five minute drive. It's a working fishing port, so it's proper, not just for tourists.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are basically on the doorstep. It's a good day out. National Trust Cornwall has a list of their places nearby, like Tregrehan.
For a bigger trip, the Eden Project is about 20 minutes away. You can cycle there from Pentewan if you're keen. St Austell is the nearest town for supermarkets.
It's a good spot if you want to be in the countryside but near the south coast. The Roseland Peninsula is nice for driving. You can get to St Mawes in under half an hour and get the ferry to Falmouth.
