Puffin Burrow is in Portmellon, which is a cove just along from Mevagissey. It's a one-bedroom cottage for two people. It’s a four star rating, which means it's comfortable and well looked after.
The cottage is old, so the rooms aren't big. You're mostly here for the view. You can see the sea from the bedroom windows, the living room, and outside. There are two little terrace areas, one up and one down.
The bathroom is ensuite. There's a shower. Bedding and towels are included. There's Wi-Fi and a washing machine. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
It's right on the water's edge, so you hear the waves. It’s also directly on the South West Coast Path. You can walk straight out onto it, towards Mevagissey one way or elsewhere the other.
There's a pub about 50 yards away. It does food. In the summer, there's sometimes a café open and you can hire kayaks or paddle boards from the cove.
Mevagissey harbour is about a fifteen minute walk along the coast path. It's a proper old fishing village with shops and restaurants. For a bigger beach day, Pentewan Sands is about ten minutes by car.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a five minute drive away. The Eden Project is about twenty minutes. Truro is half an hour if you need a city or a mainline train station.
