Tregolfva
This is Tregolfva, in Higher Porthpean near St Austell. It's a barn conversion that sleeps four, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The main thing is the view. You look straight out over St Austell Bay towards Fowey. The living area and the main bedroom upstairs both face that way, so you get it from inside too. There's a terrace out the front to sit on.
It's on the edge of the Porthpean golf course. The seventeenth fairway runs past the front garden. The clubhouse is a short walk away if you fancy a round or a meal. They're reasonable.
Porthpean beach is a few hundred metres down the hill. It's sandy and sheltered, good for swimming. There are rock pools at one end.
You've got a parking space, a walled courtyard garden at the back, and that open bit of grass at the front. It takes one dog.
In the cottage, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included.
For days out, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are very close. The Roseland Peninsula, with its fishing villages, is about half an hour's drive. Newquay's beaches are about the same distance north.
