Tregolfva is a converted barn in Higher Porthpean. It’s on the Porthpean Golf Course, which is the main thing you notice. The views across St Austell Bay are good.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. Everything is well looked after.
The living area is open plan. The doors open onto a terrace that faces south east, so you get the sun and the view. The main bedroom upstairs has the same view.
You get a parking space. There’s a small courtyard at the back, and an open grassy bit at the front next to the 17th fairway.
Porthpean Beach is a few hundred metres down the hill. It’s sandy and sheltered. Good for swimming, but also for rock pools and looking for crabs.
The golf clubhouse is a short walk. The prices are reasonable and they do food and drinks. You don’t have to play golf to use it.
The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
For days out, The Eden Project is close by. The Lost Gardens of Heligan aren’t far. The fishing villages on the Roseland Peninsula are about half an hour’s drive. Newquay’s surfing beaches are about the same distance north.
