The Hollies
The Hollies is on the edge of St Austell. It's a detached, single-storey cottage, so everything's on one level. We live next door. The place has a 4 Star rating, which I think means it's comfortable and well looked after.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a kingsize bed and a TV in there. One bathroom with a shower. You've got your own enclosed courtyard out the back through French doors. It gets the sun in the afternoon. There's a barbecue.
It's a very practical spot. You can drive to most of Cornwall within an hour. The historic port at Charlestown is about ten minutes away. You can walk the coastal path from there.
The Eden Project is a fifteen minute drive. That's the big one. For a beach, Porthpean is close. It's a small, sheltered cove.
There's a shop and a local pub about five minutes' walk. They serve food. For other restaurants, you'd drive into St Austell town centre, which is a mile or so.
Facilities: it's all on the ground floor and the entrance is step-free, so it works if you have limited mobility. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
