The Hollies is a bungalow next to my house on the edge of St Austell. It's all on one level and you get it to yourselves. It’s detached, so you’ve got your own privacy. There's parking right outside.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a kingsize bed and one bathroom with a shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s well looked after and comfortable. Because it's all ground floor, it’s quite straightforward to get around.
Inside, it’s one open plan room for the kitchen, dining and sitting area. The French doors open onto a small, enclosed courtyard. It gets the sun in the afternoon and evening. There’s a table and chairs out there, and a barbecue.
The bedroom has a TV and decent storage. Everything is included: bedding, towels, WiFi. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine.
There’s a shop and a pub about five minutes walk away. The pub does food. For a beach, Porthpean is the closest, about two miles. It’s a small sandy cove.
You’re well placed here for getting around. Charlestown, with the old harbour and ships, is just down the road. The Eden Project is about ten minutes by car. That’s the big one. You can get to the south coast beaches like Mevagissey, or the north coast around Newquay, in under half an hour.
For walking, you can pick up the South West Coast Path from several spots nearby. The National Trust has a lot of properties and coastline in the area if you’re planning visits.
No pets, sorry.
