Bunker
This is The Bunker in Carlyon Bay. It's a one bedroom place, sleeps three. I know the name makes it sound a bit grim, but it's just because of the shape. It's a perfectly nice modern flat, like a little apartment block on the hillside. It has a 3 Star rating, so it’s clean and functional.
The main thing is the view. You're up on the hill, so it looks right out over the sea towards Gribbin Head. The kitchen window and the little patio area both face that way. It's quite exposed up there, so it can be breezy, but you get the sunshine.
You're a few minutes' walk down the hill to the beach at Carlyon Bay. It's a long, flat sandy beach when the tide's out, good for a proper walk. For a cove, Porthpean is just along the coast a bit. The coastal path runs past here too.
Charlestown is a mile or so down the road. That's where the tall ships are. It's got a couple of pubs, some places to eat, and a shipwreck museum if that's your thing. For a bigger shop, you'd go to St Austell, which is about ten minutes in the car.
You're in a good spot to get to other places. The Eden Project is about fifteen minutes' drive. Fowey and Mevagissey are maybe twenty-five minutes. You can be in Truro in half an hour. National Trust Cornwall has a list of all their places nearby, like Lanhydrock.
As for the flat itself, it's all on one level inside which is handy. One double bedroom, and a sofa bed in the living area for the third person. There's a shower room, not a bath. You've got a TV, WiFi, and parking right outside. The patio has a table and chairs. We include all the bedding and towels. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a cot in the cupboard if you need it.
