Chyandour
Chyandour is on the hill above Fowey. It's built where the old grammar school used to be. It's tall, over four floors, so there are a lot of stairs to get to the top.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so things are in good order. It's comfortable, not fussy.
The main thing is the view. You can see right over the town, the estuary, Polruan, and out to sea. There are three little balconies, so you can get a bit of fresh air and take it in from different floors.
In town, there are places to eat and you can get boat trips straight from the harbour. For a good walk, you can follow the coast path. It's a proper harbour town.
If you want to drive out, the Eden Project is about twenty minutes away. Charlestown with its tall ships is half an hour. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are maybe twenty-five minutes.
For facilities, it's got the usual. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Parking is on site, which is a real plus in Fowey. Bedding and towels are included. There's a highchair. No pets though.
