The Wheelhouse
The Wheelhouse is in Fowey. It's an apartment on the top floor of a tall Victorian house. The main thing is the view. You look right out over the river and the sea. You can see the boats going in and out.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms. One's a double and has its own shower room. The other has twin beds. There's a second shower room as well.
There are a lot of stairs to get to it. You go up a flight of stone steps from the road, then four more short flights inside the building. It's not great for anyone who struggles with steps.
Inside, it's open plan. The living area, dining area and kitchen are all one space. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There's a big TV. The decoration is fairly simple.
The town is right there. You can walk down the hill to the shops and pubs. Readymoney Cove beach is a short walk away too. For a bigger beach, Lantic Bay is a drive. It's quite a steep walk down from the car park.
You can get the ferry over to Bodinnick. Polperro and Looe are along the coast, about a twenty minute drive. Charlestown, with its old ships, is about half an hour west.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means everything is in good order. Bedding and towels are included. There's WiFi. No pets, sorry.
