Madderhay

It's called Madderhay, on the edge of Lostwithiel. You turn off the road onto your own private drive. It's a single cottage, not part of a row. The garden's enclosed and private, which is good if you've got the dog.

It sleeps six, in three bedrooms. There's a double bedroom and the family bathroom downstairs. Upstairs, there's another double with an en-suite shower room, and a twin room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not a show home. The kitchen has what you need, including a dishwasher. There's a washing machine too. Bedding and towels are included.

You can have one well-behaved dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. The stairs are normal cottage stairs.

Lostwithiel is about a ten minute walk. It's an old town with some antique shops and a few pubs that do food. It's got a train station, which is handy if you don't want to drive everywhere. The main line goes through there.

The closest beach is at Par, about six miles away. It's sandy, with dunes. For a nicer day out, Fowey is about a 20 minute drive. It's a proper harbour town with places to eat. The Eden Project is about 25 minutes away. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about half an hour. Lanhydrock, the National Trust house, is maybe 15 minutes by car.

You're in a good spot for both coasts. The north coast, with Newquay and Padstow, is about 40 minutes. The south coast, like Fowey or Polperro, is closer.
