Madderhay

Madderhay is near Lostwithiel. It's a cottage on an estate, at the end of its own driveway. It's quiet.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom and the main bathroom are downstairs, which is handy. The other two bedrooms are upstairs, one has its own shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating.

The garden is enclosed and private, good if you've got a dog. We take one pet.

Inside, it's an open plan kitchen and dining area. The living room has a sofa, chairs, and an open fire. The stairs are typical cottage stairs, so they turn a bit and aren't a straight run.

You can walk into Lostwithiel from the estate. It's an old town with antique shops and a few pubs. It has a mainline railway station too, if you fancy a day out without the car.

The closest beach is at Par, about six miles away. It's sandy with dunes and parking. Fowey is a bit further, maybe twenty minutes by car. It's a nice harbour town with places to eat. The Lanhydrock estate is nearby for walks and the house. The Eden Project is about a twenty-five minute drive. The Lizard or the north coast around Padstow are within a half hour drive too, depending on traffic.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right there. There's a woodburning stove, and we supply an initial amount of logs.
