Stable Cottage is one of three cottages here at Peregrine Hall, just outside Lostwithiel. It's a conversion from an old stable block. You're on the edge of town, up a hill, so you look out over the trees towards Restormel Castle.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, which is handy. We've got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well equipped. The main room is open plan, kitchen, dining, sitting area. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings.
You have your own patio area with a barbecue. The real benefit is the grounds. There are about nine acres of gardens and woodland here that you're free to explore. It's quite peaceful.
Lostwithiel itself is a five minute walk down the hill. It's an old market town, known for antiques. There are a few good pubs that do food, some nice cafes, and a basic shop. The River Fowey runs through it. There's a little beach by the ancient bridge, which is a nice spot.
For a proper day out, the Lanhydrock Estate is very close. It's a National Trust house with massive gardens and woodland walks. The Restormel Castle is just up the road. The Eden Project is about a twenty minute drive. The coast at Fowey is fifteen minutes by car.
Facilities: it has a washing machine, WiFi, TV. There's a cot and highchair if needed. Bedding is included. Parking is right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's also a shared heated swimming pool on the estate, open in the summer months.
