Cider Press Cottage

Cider Press Cottage is in Fowey. It's a two bedroom place that used to be part of a farm. You'll see the old cider press out the front. It sleeps four.

It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well looked after. The bathroom has a walk in shower, which is easier if you have mobility issues. The kitchen has what you need. There's a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included.

The main thing is the location. You're about a ten minute walk from the town centre and the harbour. It's uphill on the way back, but it's not too bad. There's parking for one car right by the cottage, which is a relief in Fowey.

You can bring one dog. There's a stairgate at the bottom of the stairs. The garden is a small patio area with a table. It's enclosed.

From the town, you can get the ferry over to Polruan or catch a boat trip. The South West Coast Path runs right through. For a longer walk, the path to Polkerris or around Readymoney Cove is good. The National Trust has quite a bit nearby, like Lantic Bay. The Cornwall National Landscape site has walking ideas.

Within about half an hour's drive, you've got the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Charlestown. If you fancy a different beach, Par Sands is big and good for dogs. Mevagissey is a busy fishing port.

There's a local pub a few minutes walk away. The town has shops, a bakery, and places to eat. It gets busy in summer.
