The Shippen

This is The Shippen. It's one of the cottages here at Cartole, near Trenewan in Cornwall. The cottages used to be farm buildings. This one sleeps four, in two bedrooms. There's one bathroom.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-kept. The stairs have a gate at the top, which is handy.

The cottage is in the middle of the grounds, so you get a good view of the fields. There's a shared play area for children with some equipment. We provide a highchair and a stairgate.

You're about four and a half miles from the coast at Looe. The nearest pub is a mile away, in St Martin. It does food. There's a shop about a mile and a quarter away.

Looe is a proper fishing harbour. Polperro is the classic Cornish village, all narrow streets. Fowey is lovely for a walk and a coffee by the estuary. All are within a 20-30 minute drive.

If you want a day out, The Eden Project is about half an hour away. Lanhydrock is similar. It's a National Trust house with big gardens.

Facilities wise: there's parking right outside the cottage. Bedding is included. No pets, sorry.
