The Lodge is one of the cottages at Trecan Farm, near Trecangate. You turn off the lane onto a long, private drive through trees to get here. It's a wooden lodge, so it's a bit different to the stone ones.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It has a 4 Star rating. Everything's in good order.
The setting is the main thing. You're on a working farm with fields all around. You'll see the animals – goats, chickens, that sort of thing – from the windows or when you walk about. There's a shared games room and a tennis court on site if you fancy that.
You're inland here, not right on the coast. For a beach, Talland Bay is about ten minutes by car. Looe is a similar distance, that's got a sandy beach and the usual seaside things. Fowey is a lovely fishing town, about a 20 minute drive. Good for a wander and something to eat.
If you want a big day out, the Eden Project is roughly half an hour away. The Camel Trail for cycling is accessible from Bodmin, also within half an hour. For walking, you've got a lot of the South West Coast Path within easy reach.
Inside, it's got what you'd need. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. There's a patio area with the lodge. Bedding and towels are included. The parking is right there.
