Cosy Cottage
Cosy Cottage is in Fowey. It’s a one-bedroom place for two people, and we take one dog. You’re right in the middle of the town, so it’s about a two-minute walk to get down to the main street and the quay.
It’s a four-star rating. It’s comfortable and clean, but it’s small. The thing you need to know is it’s on three floors. The living room is on the ground floor, the bedroom is up one flight, and the bathroom is up another flight from there. The stairs are steep, like a lot of old cottages here.
You’ve got a wood burning stove, which is nice when it’s cold. There’s a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. The WiFi usually works fine.
For the beach, Readymoney Cove is about a 25 minute walk. You go through the town and along the esplanade. There’s a cafe there. If you want a bigger stretch of sand, Polkerris or Polridmouth are a short drive.
You’re well placed for walking. The South West Coast Path runs right through. You can walk to Polruan and get the ferry across. The National Trust Cornwall page is good for ideas. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about 20 minutes away by car, and the Eden Project is about half an hour.
