Tarquins
Tarquins is in Fowey. It's an apartment, ground floor level, right by the river. You get a patio that's basically on the water. You can sit out there and watch the boats chug past.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both doubles, and two bathrooms. That's handy, no queue in the morning. It's a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The apartment is part of a small block called Square Rig. They've got a shared games room, which is useful if the weather turns. There's also a rowing boat and some kayaks you can use on the river, included in the price. You'll need to be confident on the water though, the tide can be strong.
Fowey itself is a proper little town. You can walk to everything: shops, pubs, restaurants, the lot. It gets busy in summer, especially during regatta week in August. The ferries across the river to Polruan and Bodinnick run regularly. From Polruan you can pick up the Hall Walk, which is a great cliff-top path.
If you want to go further, the Eden Project is about a 20-minute drive. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are similar. For a different kind of day, you can drive to Polperro or Mevagissey, both fishing villages. There's a passenger boat from Fowey to Mevagissey in season too.
Facilities: everything's included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are provided. There's a cot if you need one. No pets allowed.
