The Stables is in Fowey. It's a converted barn, so it's quite small and perfect for two. The beams and stone walls are original, which is nice.
It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are wide but a bit steep, as you'd expect in an old building.
You have a small front garden and a private courtyard out the back. There's seating in both. The view from the back courtyard is good, you can see the harbour.
Inside, it's all open plan downstairs. There's a kitchen area, a sofa, a chair, and an electric stove that looks like a wood burner. Upstairs is the bedroom and a bathroom with a shower.
It's about a ten minute walk down to Readymoney Cove through the woods. The path is good. Fowey itself is maybe a fifteen minute walk. It's a proper sailing town with narrow streets, shops, and some very good pubs.
For a big day out, the Eden Project is about a twenty minute drive. It's worth it. If you want to go walking on the moor, Bodmin Moor is roughly half an hour by car. The National Trust has a lot of coastal places nearby too.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. It has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a kids play area on the grounds, but the cottage itself is really just for adults.
