Prideaux Farmhouse is near St Blazey, just outside St Austell. It's a five star place, so it's a proper step up in quality. It's part of an old farm estate up on the side of the Luxulyan Valley. The views are good. Lots of trees and fields.
It sleeps eight, has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. One's on the ground floor, with a walk in shower, and there's wheelchair access to that part, which is helpful. The stairs are normal house stairs, not too steep.
It's a quiet spot. The nearest proper shop is about a mile away in St Blazey. The closest pub is in Luxulyan, maybe a twenty minute walk. They do food.
You can walk straight out into the valley from the house. The path down through the woods is known as one of the nicest walks in Cornwall, past an old viaduct. The Saints' Way footpath runs through Prideaux Wood nearby. That goes from Fowey to Padstow if you're up for miles of it.
Fowey is the main town, about five miles. Good pubs and restaurants there. You can get boat trips from the harbour. The Eden Project is ten minutes by car. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about twenty minutes away.
You can get to the south coast beaches, like Par Sands, in ten to fifteen minutes. For surf, you'd head north to places like Newquay, which is about half an hour's drive.
Facilities are all there. Wood burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. Parking is on site. You can bring one dog.
