The place is called Hartriza. It's in St Austell. It's a modern terrace house that was all done up a couple of years ago. It feels fresh and clean.
It sleeps four. Three bedrooms upstairs, which is useful. The main room has its own shower, then there's another bathroom too. All the bedding and towels are here.
Parking is on site, which you'll want. There's a little patio out the back with a table if you want to sit outside.
Inside, the kitchen is a good size with a dishwasher. Both the kitchen and the living room have underfloor heating, which is a nice touch if it's chilly. The stairs are fine, nothing unusual.
St Austell itself is handy. There are supermarkets, a cinema, and a shopping centre all a few minutes' walk away. It's not a picture postcard village, it's a working town. The brewery does tours if that's of interest.
Where it scores is as a base. The Eden Project is about a ten minute drive. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are about fifteen minutes away. The coast is close too. Charlestown harbour is ten minutes down the road, has a small beach and is interesting to wander around. Mevagissey is a bit further, maybe twenty five minutes, but it's a proper fishing harbour with good places to eat.
The coast path is accessible from several points nearby if you want a walk. For a bigger beach day, you'd probably drive to places like Par Sands or Pentewan, which are within half an hour.
Things to know: no pets. The garden is enclosed but it's a small patio, not a big lawn. The WiFi is here and works. There's a TV.
