Treburthick House

This is Treburthick House. It's in Higher Porthpean, just above St Austell Bay.

It's a big detached house, sleeps fifteen. Eight bedrooms, seven bathrooms, so it's good if you want your own space. It's got a 5 Star rating, meaning it's well set up and comfortable.

The main thing is the view. You can see right along the coast from the front. The garden is about an acre and it's enclosed, so it's safe for kids and dogs. You can keep two dogs here. It's a three hundred yard walk down the lane to Porthpean beach. It's a quiet, sandy cove. You can swim there or hire kayaks.

Inside, it's spacious. There's a games room, a woodburner, and a big kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site.

The local pub and a restaurant are about a three-quarter mile walk. A golf course overlooks the bay, just a short walk up the lane.

For things to do, you're in a good spot. The Eden Project is about a twenty minute drive. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a bit closer. Mevagissey is a ten minute drive, it's a proper old fishing village. You can get the ferry from there over to Fowey. Fowey is lovely for pottering about.

A bit further, you can get to the north coast for surfing in under an hour. Padstow, Port Isaac, St Ives are all within about an hour's drive.
