Willow Barn is my place in Polmassick. It's a detached barn conversion. We live next door in the farmhouse.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped and comfortable.
The living area is upstairs. That's to get the views. You get fields out the back and the valley from the front balcony. There are bifold doors that open right out onto it. The stairs are a standard flight, not a spiral.
It's properly rural. You'll hear birds and not much else. The nearest pub is about half a mile down the lane. The shop is two miles away in St Ewe.
The coast is about four miles. Porthpean is a good sandy beach. You can often see seals from a kayak there. Mevagissey harbour is about three and a half miles. It's a proper working fishing port. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are very close by. National Trust Cornwall has a lot of nearby places like Caerhays Castle beach.
If you want to go further, the Eden Project is about twenty minutes' drive. Fowey is a bit further, maybe half an hour. You can get the ferry from Fowey to Polruan in season. The South West Coast Path is obviously all along here.
Facilities: everything on the list is there. The wood burner works, there's an electric vehicle charger, and the WiFi is decent. We allow up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed. There's parking right outside.
