Gewans Farm Cottage is part of our old farmhouse, near St Austell. It’s a working sheep farm so you’ll see us getting on with things. You get this whole end of the building to yourselves.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom downstairs. It’s a 4 Star place, which means it’s comfortable and well looked after. The floors downstairs are slate, so it can feel a bit cool underfoot. There’s a woodburner in the living room which warms it up nicely.
The patio out the back gets the sun most of the day and is sheltered from the wind. The garden looks out over the valley towards St Austell. You can bring one well-behaved dog. If you ride, we’ve got stabling. You can hack out on the local bridleways.
You’re about a mile from the nearest beach. The shop and pub are also a mile away in either St Austell or Charlestown. Charlestown has the tall ships and some good places to eat.
The big attractions are close. The Eden Project is about five miles away. So are The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Mevagissey is a proper fishing harbour, that’s four miles. For a bigger trip, the south coast of Cornwall is all within half an hour.
What’s here: a washing machine, cot and highchair if you need them, bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right outside. WiFi works, but it’s the countryside so it’s not super fast.
