Trelawney Cottage

It's called Trelawney Cottage, and it's just outside St Austell. It was all done up last year, so everything's new and clean. It's a standard semi-detached place, but the layout's good. There's a garden and you can park right outside.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which helps. One bedroom and a shower room are downstairs. The stairs are fine, but they're standard cottage width, so a bit narrower than a modern house.

Inside, it's straightforward. The living room's got a wood burner and a TV. The kitchen's open plan and has everything you'd need, including a dishwasher and a washing machine. The towels and bedding are included.

The town centre's a few minutes' drive. There are shops and a few pubs. For a big supermarket, you'll want to head into St Austell itself.

The main thing here is the location. You're about ten minutes from quite a few beaches. Carlyon Bay is probably the closest. The Eden Project is only about a fifteen minute drive. That's worth a visit. For walking, the South West Coast Path is easily accessible. The National Trust has a lot of coastal car parks and walks nearby.

If you want to explore, Charlestown's an interesting harbour about five miles away. Fowey and Mevagissey are both within half an hour. Bodmin Moor is about forty minutes if you fancy a change from the coast.

It's rated 4 Star. That means it's well-equipped and comfortable. It's not a boutique hotel, but it's a solid, clean place to come back to. No pets allowed, I'm afraid.
