The Old Wash House

The Old Wash House is what it says it was. It's on a working farm here in Lower Sticker, which is inland Cornwall just north of St Austell. You're in a quiet courtyard with a few other cottages, but it's detached. The farm is about 150 acres, so there are fields all around.

It sleeps two, one bedroom and one bathroom. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means everything is in very good order. The space is open plan downstairs. There's a wood burning stove in an old inglenook fireplace. They've left the original clome oven in there too, which is an interesting bit of history. The ceiling is high with wooden beams.

Outside you've got your own private patio area with a table and a barbecue. Parking is right there.

The village shop and pub are about a mile and a half away. For the coast, Pentewan Beach is roughly three miles. Mevagissey harbour is about four miles. You can hire bikes locally to ride the Pentewan Trail.

If you want to explore further, the big attractions like the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are within a 20-30 minute drive. Fowey and the Daphne du Maurier connections are about eight miles. The National Trust has several houses and gardens nearby too.

Facilities are all there: wifi, TV, dishwasher, washing machine, bedding and towels included. It's listed as having a wheelchair accessible entrance. They can provide a cot and highchair. No pets.
